Optimism in a Time of Pessimism

Mayberry posted yesterday about how he felt it was nearly time for him to bug out. Things are looking worse and the assault on our freedoms and liberties is in full swing. I agree with Mayberry although I think there are a lot of things that we can be very happy about. Sure the government is still going full speed ahead at destroying our economy, but the center and cause of the crisis is the Federal Reserve.

Nobody could've imagined back in February when Ron Paul introduced his audit the FED bill (HR 1207) that today we would have 279 co-sponsors in the house. That's 64% of the house! The House of Representatives is the main representing body of the American people and this shows that more and more people are waking up and taking action. This is a total bipartisan effort with Democrats and Republicans coming together for a common cause. This is not the result of corporate lobbyists, or special interests groups. This is the result of the PEOPLE taking a stand and demanding transparency and accountability. This my friends, is something everyone should be ECSTATIC about!

Not only is HR 1207 chugging along; the sister bill in the Senate (S 604) already has 20 co-sponsors! That's 20% of the Senate behind auditing the Federal Reserve. Again this is all due to American's speaking out and standing up for ourselves. A successful audit of the Federal Reserve will expose the crimes they have committed and the damage they are doing. Americans need a good reality check and this is a start. If everyone knew without a doubt that we don't need the Federal Reserve it would be abolished tomorrow.

Rand Paul is also going to be running for the Kentucky Senate seat. Jim Bunning has officially dropped out of the race which means Rand is going to run (unofficially). Rand is a great candidate and would be a wonderful asset to Kentucky and the whole country. Electing Rand to the Senate, sets the stage for others like him to run and the more we have that represent the people the better off we are. Not to mention how scared it will make these career politicians who only represent the corporations that pay for them.

These are just a couple examples of things to be happy about. The general population is getting fed up with the boom and bust cycles that the Federal Reserve creates, and the previously mentioned bills are proof of this. The alternative media is exploding in terms of popularity and not only is Rand Paul running for office but there are a lot of other liberty minded candidates that plan on running in 2010.

There seem to also be more and more people waking up to the corrupt government and getting tired of these big corporations getting bailouts while average American's are losing their jobs and homes. Wall Street is getting precedent over Main Street and this is not how things should be. While I think a time will come when we must bug out or there might even be a time when blood must be shed on both sides. But as long as the "system" still exists, we must keep fighting within the system. We're prepping for the worst, yet hoping for the best; but more than that we must work our asses off to ensure the best.

Get Over Your Partisan Politics

One thing that irks me the most is partisan politics. The Republicans are unhappy with the current administration's out of control spending and increasing the size of the government. But where was the opposition when Bush was tripling the size of the Federal Government? Bush ran large budget deficits and spent like crazy, but the Republicans loved it when it was within their party. When Bush was in office the Democrats sounded much like the Republicans do today.

But where is the change? Obama ran on a platform of change, and he is exactly right, we need to change our government dramatically. But no change has occurred. The Republicans should be HAPPY with the current administration for multiple reasons. The Republicans supported the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and the saber rattling at Iran. Obama "pledged" to end the wars and called them "unwinnable." He was right! But the wars go on today and not only that they have been expanded! So why aren't the Republicans supportive of the current administration? No policies have been changed since Obama was sworn into office.

Bush started the policy of warrantless wiretapping, torture, and the endless wars. Obama has done nothing but continue these policies so why the outcry? Shouldn't the Republicans be happy? The point of this is to illustrate that we no longer have a two party system. The two party system is used to distract the average American from the big picture...that BOTH parties are corrupt and need major reform. The government and the media keep us occupied, bickering between one another about petty issues while they stomp on our rights, liberties, and the Constitution.

Our current two party system is like a one party system with two heads. Both parties support the same policies. It's like having two cupcakes, both vanilla with vanilla icing but one has red food coloring and one has blue. No real choice between the two, other than the color. Bottom line if you're attending Tea Parties and getting active in the political process GREAT! If you're doing it only because the Democrats are in office and you just want a Republican majority then you are doing it for the WRONG reasons. Open your eyes and see that both parties are flawed, and both parties support the status quo.

Real reform comes when we elect candidates that come from outside the political spectrum. Candidates like Rand Paul here in Kentucky, Peter Schiff in Connecticut, Adam Kokesh in New Mexico, RJ Harris in Oklahoma, and many others. You can see if your state has a pro-liberty candidate at RetakeCongress.com.

Congradulations Kentucky!

We did it! All 6 Kentucky Congressmen have now co-sponsored HR 1207! Thanks to the hard work of all the Kentucky liberty and freedom fighters all of our Congressman are now fully behind Ron Paul's historic piece of legislation. This is a great victory for the state and this bill is the first major step at exposing the Federal Reserve for what they are; an unconstitutional, private, secret central bank.

As of July 14th Rep. Harold Rogers and Rep. John Yarmuth are now officially co-sponsoring the bill. This bill is bi-partisan; as our state shows, it's not about Republicans or Democrats because the Federal Reserve effects all of our lives. It's about our Congressman's duty to provide answers to the American People's questions and this is how they're going to start.

Now that all of our Congressman have signed on please take a minute to call, or email them to extend your appreciation for them co-sponsoring the bill. This doesn't mean the fight is over, we must keep pressure on the Senate to pass the senate version of HR 1207, S 604. Sen. Jim Bunning is behind S 604 but we need to focus on getting Sen. Mitch McConnell behind it.

Congressman To Call and Thank:
Congressman Ed Whitfield [R] 1st District
Congressman Brett Guthrie [R] 2nd District
Congressman John Yarmuth [D] 3rd District
Congressman Geoff Davis [R] 4th District
Congressman Harold Rogers [R] 5th District
Congressman Ben Chandler [D] 6th District

Another One Down...Two to Go!

I posted on June 5, 2009 about Rep. Ed Whitfield co-sponsoring HR 1207. I think that the Kentucky Representatives who are signing onto HR 1207 is a direct result of our hard work and the hard work off all the liberty and freedom groups and organizations all over the state.

The newest co-sponsor is Representative Ben Chandler. I think part of the reason Rep. Chandler has signed on is because of the fact that everyone is pissed he voted for cap and trade. Yes it is great that he is co-sponsoring this legendary piece of legislation, but we haven't and won't forget that he was the ONLY Kentucky Congressman to vote FOR cap and trade.

Now there are a total of 4 Kentucky Representatives that have co-sponsored the bill. Below is a list the reps who have signed on and the reps who haven't. Keep the pressure on if your rep hasn't co-sponsored this yet. Over half of congress has signed onto this bill and we need more. BTW be sure to contact your Senators about S. 604 the sister bill to HR 1207 that's in the senate. This is all in an effort to bring more accountability and transparency to the Federal Reserve.

Congressman To Call and Thank:
Congressman Ed Whitfield [R] 1st District
Congressman Brett Guthrie [R] 2nd District
Congressman Geoff Davis [R] 4th District
Congressman Ben Chandler [D] 6th District

Congressman To Keep the Pressure On:

Congressman John Yarmuth [D] 3rd District
Congressman Harold Rogers [R] 5th District

Shocking News: Kentucky "Hate Crime" Report

Infowars picked up an interesting report that was posted on the Kentucky Justice & Public Safety Cabinet website yesterday with some information that I thought the readers might like to know about. The report is the 2006 Hate Crime and Hate Incidents in the Commonwealth report. The report is compiled by the Justice and Safety Center at Eastern Kentucky University on behalf of the Kentucky Justice & Public Safety Cabinet.

To view the full report, click here.

The report is 50+ pages long and there are a few with some shocking information. The last paragraph of page 3 of the PDF file is below:
Although hate crimes are not typically committed by organized hate groups, hate groups often commit some of the most brutal hate crimes. Throughout history, people have formed hate groups, united in their hatred for those of different races, religions, sexual orientations, and ethnicities/national origins. Organized hate groups are generally defined by federal authorities as groups whose primary purpose is to promote animosity, hostility, and malice against persons belonging to a race, religion, gender, handicap, sexual orientation, or ethnicity group which differs from that of the members of the organization. These groups range from loosely organized and informal organizations to highly structured international organizations. The Southern Poverty Law Center’s (SPLC) Intelligence Project tracks active hate and patriot groups across the nation and maintains a state-by-state directory of where such groups have been established. While not exhaustive, the list identifies known groups based on information from hate or patriot groups’ publications, citizens’ reports, law enforcement agencies, field sources, news reports, and the Internet (See Tables 6.3 and 6.4).
In the above excerpt they're openly linking hate groups to patriot groups. And confirm that all groups are under close watch.

The final paragraph in page 5 is equally as shocking:
The Internet provides an accessible and inviting interface that allows extremists new ways to communicate, no longer with words alone but through pictures, graphics, sounds, animation, and video (Tiven, 2003, p.13). Websites, chat rooms, discussion boards, email messages, and instant messages are all part of a virtual playground for extremists to disperse their messages of hate to the masses. The ability to use these techniques to entice Internet users has proven to be a very successful recruitment tool for hate groups. Groups may twist their message to appear as though they are legitimate activists who have been unfairly characterized as extremists. Some post provocative messages on online discussion forums devoted to mainstream, legitimate topics with the hope of attracting new supporters (Tiven, 2003, p.17). Groups operating in Kentucky are no exception. Examples include the Kentucky based websites for hate groups such as the Imperial Klans of America, Knights of the KKK, http://www.kkkk.net/kentucky1/index.htm, and
Warriors of the White World, http://www.warriorsofthewhiteworld.com, and for patriot groups such as Take Back Kentucky, http://www.takebackkentucky.com/index.html, and the Kentucky State Militia, www.kysm.org. Such groups are actively using the Internet to share their message, recruit new members, and improve the coordination and communication among current members.
Again, openly relating the Take Back Kentucky group with the KKK chapters. I am a member of Take Back Kentucky and so is Dr. Rand Paul! This is just an outrage and shows proves that they view us as the enemy and want to demonize our movement by relating us to the Klu Klux Klan. And it gets even better, on page 25 it shows a chart 6.4 (referenced on page 3) and lists some other patriot groups as hate groups.
-Take Back Kentucky Clarkson, KY
-Ranch Rescue Hebron, KY
-Constitution Party Louisville, KY
-Kentucky State Militia Stanford, KY

*Patriot groups define themselves as opposed to the “New World Order” or advocate or adhere to extreme anti-government or conspiratorial doctrines. Listing here does not imply that the groups themselves advocate or engage in violence or other criminal activities, or are racist. This list was compiled from field reports, Patriot publications, the Internet, law enforcement officials and news reports. Source: Southern Poverty Law Center.
This really is just unbelievable. How can the Constitution Party be a hate group? That is a legitimate political party with candidates that run for the presidency! And then they go on to say Patriot groups oppose the "New World Order" like that's a bad thing. I'm not trying to rant here but the proof is in the pudding. Let me know your thoughts on this.

Reader Tip & KPN Info

Reader Johnathan sent me a tip about HR 1444 the Congressional Commission on Civic Service Act. The language of this bill says that they will look at setting up mandatory national service. This directly violates the Constitution, and Johnathan has made an email template for you to send to your representatives. The template, and more information is available at the Kentucky Preppers Network Forums. I added a new Political Activist section and will be adding contact information for all the Representatives, Senators and Legislators in Kentucky.

I have posted some good stuff over at the forums. Feel free to post comments, tips, or even questions of your own. The good ones will get posted to the blog. The forum will act as a database for tons of prepper info in all subjects. And the Activist sub-forum will be a one stop place to get all your activist info.

In an effort to bring more diversification to the blog I will be posting some stuff from other survival blogs and prepper networks that deal with gardening and self-sufficiency. This is something that I personally only know what I have read. There are others out there in the prepper networks that have some great posts dealing with their gardens and I'll try to get some of those up for our readers who garden and would like more info on that subject and the subject of moving to self sufficiency.

Get Involved to Restore the Constitution

How did Americans go from the smartest and most informed to the stupidest and most ill-informed? -Alex Jones

Tonight but I read a post on Survivalist Boards by "MT Patriot" that really made me think. Basically what he says is that it's great to prep, and he himself is prepared for the coming collapse, but the thing that we need to be focusing on is PREVENTING this economic collapse and global takeover. If we all get involved in our local & state governments and stay informed, we can stop this.

Things will continue to get worse with the economy and our government if people continue what they're doing right now. As long as the majority stays self absorbed, and doesn't give a crap about what's going on in their country then we will continue to be enslaved and taken over. The state sovereignty resolutions are a great start, but we have to keep fighting. We need to elect Senators and Representatives like Ron Paul & Rand Paul. We need to write our local state representatives and legislatures. We need to call, email, do whatever it takes to get exactly how we feel across to them. The local ones are the ones who will be more willing to speak with you and listen to you. Keep a weekly list of news articles and documents that you feel are important, and mail them to all your local state representatives every week.

The masses need to shed their apathy and quit denying and doubting the inevitable and obvious. Washington is filled with crooks that WE ELECTED. We have the power to stop this and end what the government is doing. We need to focus on stopping this beast before it destroys our nation. It will take the masses to come together as a nation and peacefully work to stop them. It still is OUR government. Without us they wouldn't be able to exist. We're the ones paying for all this and we have a right to know what they're doing and to limit their powers. The Constitution was set up for this, and we just need to bring them back within Constitutional powers. Our freedom, liberty, and sovereignty are all at risk. If we don't stop this all our futures are at risk.

I'm not saying don't prep, I think preps are great and I have my own but honestly hope I never have to use them when I don't want to. This movement is growing very fast and I think we still have a fighting chance at defeating this. Check out this Jim Rogers video where he was interviewed on an Australian News network.

And Now For Stimulus #2

So yesterday the Senate passed President Obama's Stimulus plan. This is the second of I'm sure many more stimulus bills that the government will frantically push through legislation in order to "save" the economy. It basically boils down to the fact that you can't get out of debt with MORE DEBT. The government works similar to an individual. If a person is in debt, they can't get out of debt by borrowing more money! Sadly, this is the best thing Washington can come up with. We have a $10 Trillion+ budget deficit so we're borrowing more money, and printing more money in order to fix this economy. Well I have news for these guys in Washington, it's not going to work. All our government is doing is imploding the economy, and the inevitable outcome is massive inflation.

Obama talks a lot about job creation, but it's obvious he has no clue how to create jobs, I honestly doubt that anyone in Washington even realizes how the government works. The government is funded through taxpayers, and taxpayers alone. Obama can't hire $4 million people and pay them with government money when we're losing hundreds of thousands of jobs a day. The government tax revenue is shrinking rapidly because laid off workers don't pay income tax and people who aren't spending their money aren't paying sales tax. This means less money into the government and more borrowing and inflation to finance this empire that we have.

Inflation happens when a country's currency gets devalued. The Federal Reserve is creating money out of thin air and pumping it into the economy, which is devaluing everyone else's currency. This money is printed with nothing of value backing it, other than a promise by the Federal Reserve. We haven't really seen inflation yet in the United States, although some prices are going up at steady paces, but it's mainly due to other factors. Once inflation hits everyone will know it. Prices will skyrocket making even the so called rich unable to afford even the basic commodities. Food and energy prices will soar along with other vital goods needed for survival. THIS is the main reason why I prep. I don't worry as much about natural or similar type disasters (although it is good to be prepared for them), my main fear is what's going to happen with our economy. I know my job is at risk as consumer spending gets lower and lower. In fact, most all of our jobs are at risk, and there's a good chance we won't be able to replace them.

SubscribeShare/Save/Bookmark

The point is I realize that your "must have" goods are going to be scarce, and if you're able to buy them they will be VERY expensive. Having a food supply should be at the top of everyone's list. This will keep you independent, and out of the clutches of government and FEMA aid. I hope that things don't happen as fast as some predict but part of me realizes that we only have a few months before things get really bad so food is the most important thing to own right now. A storable food supply is an unemployment insurance policy, or a SHTF insurance policy. Do whatever you can, sell the spare vehicle, cash out your IRA/Pension/Retirement, pull your money out of the stock market, and make the move to investing in your own survival. Buy all the food you can and store it up with the money that's going to be worthless soon anyway..

Willful Ignorance: It's My Generation's Fault

Everyone wants to find someone to point the finger at when taking about mishandled social and economic policies of our government. The real point is that it is all our faults, and it's just as much my fault as the sheeple. I'm 21 years old. I feel that I am pretty intelligent. I read a lot, do a lot of independent research, and like to form my own opinions and viewpoints from an educated stance. The bad thing is that I wasn't always like this. None of us were brought up to use our minds. We were never taught to actually think. I feel that my strong point is the fact that I am able to thing logically, and critically, two things that a LOT of people are just unable to do. Our education system is literally a joke. I went through the whole K-12 system and didn't learn a damn thing. It wasn't until college that I started learning stuff that was actually useful, and then it wasn't until I started teaching MYSELF that I learned that what our government is doing is illegal and against the Constitution.

I went a whole 19 years before I "woke up" to what the government was doing. 19 years of living in a fantasy world of high fructose corn syrup, video games, and being totally oblivious to what was going on around me. Now the good thing is that I've changed. The bad thing is that the majority of the people are still living in a fantasy world. I feel that my generation is worse than the older generations because we are being taught not to care or get involved with our government. 99.9% of the people I graduated high school with in 2006 are nothing but alcoholic college students. They could care less what the government is doing, as long as they get to go to the next party or keep milking their parents for all their money. This is going to translate into an even DUMBER older generation when these people migrate into the workforce (if there is a workforce.) Nobody I graduated with is on the same wavelength that I am. They would probably think I had "lost it."

They're the ones who have lost it. A country can only be successful if the people are involved in their government. I know I'm pointing the blame at my age group, but our PARENTS are the one's who made us this way. They're the ones who let the televisions and video games raise us. They are just as oblivious to what goes on around them, and have no clue what the government is doing. Who could tell you the meaning of fractional reserve banking, or ponzi schemes? Who could answer the question of why the federal reserve exists, and why our money isn't backed by gold? Not many could. If the public was really taught what they needed to know we would never be in this mess because the people wouldn't allow it. If people were involved in their government we would never have let any of this happen. I don't want to sound like a crazy conspiracy theorist because innovations in technology are great. Although, television, video games, and the whole entertainment industry has clouded all our minds, and ruined society. It's the worst thing for us, but the BEST thing for the government because it keeps the masses distracted from being involved with the government. Who wants to read the latest H.R. that has come up, when American Idol is coming on? These things would be fine if the masses could still keep up with was was going on and stay involved, and regulate their own time but television engulfs these people and they are unable to do anything other than keep watching. It's like they're hypnotized

I will end this here but what I'm trying to say is that my generation will be the next leaders and from what I can tell, if that's the case things aren't looking good for us...

Are the Masses ready to give up living beyond their means?

This is our fight. The government has their wars and battles, and so do we. We are in an information war. The fighters? Government propaganda vs. freedom and the truth. Scare tactics and yellow journalism are running rampid. Everyone in the country is so scared of these potential terrorists. Well the REAL terrorists are the government. They are they ones instilling fear into everyone in the country. Not everyone in Iraq is a terrorist. Not everyone in the Taliban or Al Qaeda are terrorists. Of course there are extremists in every group. But the real terrorism is blasted onto the television and radio 24/7. We're in a fight to restore the republic, bring back freedom, and restore liberty. I know we all try as hard as we can to wake up more and more fellow Americans. Some are successful, some are not.

I think the main problem is that people aren't ready to see the truth. They would rather live in a fairy tail land. A great example of this is The Matrix. Neo chose to take the red pill, and see the real truth, the real world. The majority of the people would rather take the blue pill, just as Cypher chose to go back into the Matrix. Cypher represents the mass majority of the American population. Too engrained in their own selfish lives. Too caught up in television, and the brainwashing media. Television strips citizens of their knowledge and their power. It inhibits people's ability to think for themselves. They're told what to buy, what to eat, who to look up to, what to drive ect... The government is scared of a population of critical thinkers. The government is suppressing our ability to think logically. They are suppressing our minds because if the population could actually think, they would realize that we are getting royally screwed and have been for almost a century.

So are the masses ready to give up living beyond their means? I think not. They would rather keep living beyond their means up until the day that the economy crashes. Then they would be willing to make their next move. The problem is that it will be too late when this happens. How will we eat? What good will our money be? We need to make preparations NOW while we still have time and while these green pieces of paper still have a value. Long term food storage, water, weaponry, and other essential supplies need to be stocked yesterday. We're getting closer and closer to the point of no return. We have to get prepared now, and increase our efforts of waking others up and convincing them that they also need to be prepared.

This Makes the Great Depression look Good

The United States is in a unique position as far as economic collapse is concerned. If you look at what happened to the Soviet Union in the 1990’s or Argentina early in the 2000’s you will see that the United States is in a very different position facing economic collapse. We’re not a third world nation, or a developing nation. We are a developed, powerful, and complacent nation. We are a nation of quick fixes, government checks, and the inability to think for ourselves. What would happen if the government wasn’t able to fulfill its promises of social security, unemployment benefits, welfare, Medicare…and the list goes on. What is going to happen when unemployment hits 30-40%, or when hyper-inflation hits and food prices soar to a point where even the upper middle-class can't afford to buy food? We as a nation are facing serious problems, and if you’re reading this you too realize the troubles that are ahead.

Currently the whole world is facing an economic meltdown. Iceland, Greece and Great Britain just recently have been seeing massive riots and protests. Why? Because the citizens of these countries have WOKEN UP! They realized that their governments are screwing them over in more ways than one, and have decided to not only voice their opinion but take to the streets and show how they feel about it. Does any of this hit mainstream media? No. The government/corporate controlled media doesn't want to give American's any bright ideas. But, the bottom line is that we have just as much, if not MORE of a reason to be organizing mass protests and massive demonstrations to show the politicians that we mean business. That we aren't going to sit back while they steal everything we have. They have stolen $10 trillion+ through the bailouts, and Iceland toppled their government over a few billion... Taxpayers are the ones who fund these bailouts and the taxpayers don't receive a dime of the money. Where did the money go? To the bankers. The bankers made bad investments, and gambled with taxpayer money. Why would they attempt to make good business decisions when it's not their money anyway.

So they've stolen everything we have from us, and they've stripped us of nearly all our rights as Americans. The patriot act basically made the Constitution obsolete. They've taken away Free Speech, our right to not be searched without a warrant or probable cause, and many others. Oh yea and they're currently working on taking away our right to bear arms!? This should be an outrage. But of course nobody even cares. Well I have news for America...we don't work for the government, THE GOVERNMENT WORKS FOR US. We employ them, we pay them, and we vote them into office. We need to send a strong message to Washington. If you don't do what we want, then your ass is outta here. They're driving our country into the ground and doing it "for our own good." I don't see banks loaning money, even after getting trillions from the treasury. I don't see anything good that came out of the bailouts. We need to shrink the government, end these senseless wars, and start building our nation back up. The sheep won't get up off their asses long enough to miss an episode of American Idol. I just hope that when the revolution takes place and we take back our government, that they stay out of the way.
