The Rand Paul Money Bomb is TODAY!

Today is the day of the Rand Paul money bomb organized at RunRandRun.com. As most of you already know Rand Paul, the son of the great Dr. Ron Paul is the senate hopeful the the 2010 Kentucky Senate race. The goal of the money bomb is $2 million which I think is very possible.

A recent poll from WHAS11 shows Rand trailing Grayson, the Republican "front runner," by only 11 points. Paul is also only 13 points behind Lt. Gov. Mongiardo, the Democratic front runner. This shows that Rand is a serious candidate and not some "fringe element" like I'm sure the party heads would like him to be. Thes money bomb is going to give Paul the funding he needs to push his message out to Kentuckians.

Please donate whatever amount you can. No amount is too small and every little bit helps. I know Rand will appreciate it. Make your donations at www.RandPaul2010.com. Below is a live chart showing how much money has been raised so far today. Thanks to RandPaulGraphs.com for that. GCNlive.com will be broadcasting updates throughout the day on various radio shows. Go to their site to listen for Rand Paul money bomb updates!

Optimism in a Time of Pessimism

Mayberry posted yesterday about how he felt it was nearly time for him to bug out. Things are looking worse and the assault on our freedoms and liberties is in full swing. I agree with Mayberry although I think there are a lot of things that we can be very happy about. Sure the government is still going full speed ahead at destroying our economy, but the center and cause of the crisis is the Federal Reserve.

Nobody could've imagined back in February when Ron Paul introduced his audit the FED bill (HR 1207) that today we would have 279 co-sponsors in the house. That's 64% of the house! The House of Representatives is the main representing body of the American people and this shows that more and more people are waking up and taking action. This is a total bipartisan effort with Democrats and Republicans coming together for a common cause. This is not the result of corporate lobbyists, or special interests groups. This is the result of the PEOPLE taking a stand and demanding transparency and accountability. This my friends, is something everyone should be ECSTATIC about!

Not only is HR 1207 chugging along; the sister bill in the Senate (S 604) already has 20 co-sponsors! That's 20% of the Senate behind auditing the Federal Reserve. Again this is all due to American's speaking out and standing up for ourselves. A successful audit of the Federal Reserve will expose the crimes they have committed and the damage they are doing. Americans need a good reality check and this is a start. If everyone knew without a doubt that we don't need the Federal Reserve it would be abolished tomorrow.

Rand Paul is also going to be running for the Kentucky Senate seat. Jim Bunning has officially dropped out of the race which means Rand is going to run (unofficially). Rand is a great candidate and would be a wonderful asset to Kentucky and the whole country. Electing Rand to the Senate, sets the stage for others like him to run and the more we have that represent the people the better off we are. Not to mention how scared it will make these career politicians who only represent the corporations that pay for them.

These are just a couple examples of things to be happy about. The general population is getting fed up with the boom and bust cycles that the Federal Reserve creates, and the previously mentioned bills are proof of this. The alternative media is exploding in terms of popularity and not only is Rand Paul running for office but there are a lot of other liberty minded candidates that plan on running in 2010.

There seem to also be more and more people waking up to the corrupt government and getting tired of these big corporations getting bailouts while average American's are losing their jobs and homes. Wall Street is getting precedent over Main Street and this is not how things should be. While I think a time will come when we must bug out or there might even be a time when blood must be shed on both sides. But as long as the "system" still exists, we must keep fighting within the system. We're prepping for the worst, yet hoping for the best; but more than that we must work our asses off to ensure the best.

Rand Paul Announces Exploratory Committee

You heard correctly, Rand Paul has officially announced that he is forming an Exploratory Committee to look at running for the 2010 Kentucky Senate race. He made his announcement on the Rachel Maddow show last Thursday night (5/14). He has already launched his website www.randpaul2010.com and since it's launch less than 48 hours ago he has already raised over $15,000! The message of freedom, liberty, and limited government is very powerful, and if Rand can get his name out within the state I think he would have a good chance of winning. Note: He still claims that if Bunning can raise the money and run in the race, then he won't run against him. We'll know by July if Bunning has the money for a campaign.

I will be posting all the campaign updates on my other blog Rand Paul for Senate. Keep an eye out for merchandise; including signs, shirts, bumper stickers and others. I'm sure there will be some rally's and meeting in the near future and I will be keeping everyone updated with that info. Below is the video of his announcement on national television.

Modern Survivalists Arcticle and more

The Star Telegram of Texas published an article titled, Dallas-Fort Worth's 'modern survivalists' are ready for layoffs - or war. It's rare that modern survivalists get shown in a good light but Melody McDonald wrote a great article about some local Texans who are preppers.

Here's an excerpt:
Spirko, an Army veteran and self-described "stark-raving-mad Libertarian," is part of a growing movement of people who are preparing for a disaster — natural, economic or man-made. Referred to as "modern survivalists" or "preppers," they are taking steps to protect and provide for their families should something bad happen.

Here's a video from Knob Creek Gun Show (April 4, 2009) with Rand Paul speaking to a crowd that morning. He talks to them about how politicians lie and how we need to realize that it's BOTH parties at fault. We have to look to ourselves and our values and how we stand on issues and now just vote down party lines.

And here's even more of a reason to be prepping, Bloomberg reports that Americans Feel 15.6% Unemployment as Underemployment Surges. The government cooks the books people, they change the numbers to make things not seem as bad. They tell us we have around 9% unemployment but they don't count people who aren't currently seeking work or drawing unemployment. Finally someone in the mainstream news reports the real unemployment numbers and 15% is depression numbers. We all have a risk of losing our jobs so having stored food and supplies will help if you lost your income and have to live on less money.
A measure of underemployment that counts those people has almost doubled over the past two years, to 15.6 percent, providing a more complete gauge of the labor market’s deterioration. Along with an historic drop in the percentage of the population who are working, and record numbers of long-term unemployed, the figures point to a permanent shift in employment patterns, said former U.S. Labor Secretary Robert Reich.

Another Republican Considering Senate Run

Fox 17 News

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) -- Yet another Republican is considering a run for U.S. Sen. Jim Bunning's seat.

The latest is Rand Paul, son of U.S. Rep. and former Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul of Texas. He told The Associated Press on Thursday that he would consider entering the race, but only if Bunning drops out.

Paul, a Bowling Green eye surgeon, is complimentary of Bunning and stressed that he is in no way encouraging the 77-year-old baseball icon not to run.

Bunning has won election to the Senate twice, both times by razor-thin margins. Some Republican leaders have been sending not-so-subtle messages that they want him to retire.

The Hall of Famer insists he has no plans to leave the race.

Rand Paul has never held an elected office.

-------------------------------------

This is great News everyone! Rand Paul is a Constitutionalist and Libertarian at heart just like Ron Paul and he could really make a difference in the state. If he runs we need to put tons of support behind him. I honestly wish he would run against MITCH..
